A Breakthrough Approach to Diabetes Education
Ackoff Collaboratory for Advancement of the Systems Approach (ACASA)
and Omega Group Inc., a strategy consulting firm, are co-sponsoring a
roundtable on Friday, April 12, 2002, from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the Penn campus
to explore how a systems approach, video games, and virtual world simulation can result
in behavioral changes in users.
This "invitation-only" roundtable is designed for senior-level executives interested in exploring how an "edutainment" solution--one that both entertains and informs--can be effectively adapted to many healthcare and business challenges. While the focus is on diabetes, attendees will immediately see the possibilities for applying this approach to areas as diverse as management education and learning, financial services, customer relationship management, and various disease intervention strategies.
Key participants include J. Barry Love, Ph.D., President and COO, Omega Group Inc.; M. Kim Saxton, Ph.D., Global Market Research Manager, Endocrine, Eli Lilly & Company; Stanley Schwartz, M.D., Associate Professor of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania; and Barry Silverman, Ph.D., Professor of Engineering/SE & CIS, Wharton/OPIM, and Medicine, Director, ACASA, University of Pennsylvania.
With emerging technologies creating new opportunities to reach people and construct learning situations as never before, the goal is to gain critical input and support from a select group of leading-edge thinkers.
